Air conditioning units
Low consumption costs are essential for the economic viability of merchant ships. ENGIE Axima provides cost-effective, energy-efficient standard air conditioning units, partially equipped with heat recovery. They are mostly made of sea air-resistant stainless steel and require extremely little maintenance.
Engine rooms are the heart of every vessel. The safe operation of the systems in these rooms is used, amongst other things, for the proper manoeuvrability of the vessel. For the operational safety of the systems, ENGIE Axima delivers proven solutions ensuring an optimal promotion of the combustion air as well as cooling air and also ensuring a specially efficient, low-noise and energy-efficient ventilation of the rooms.
Fan coil units
Engine control rooms on merchant ships are often rooms designed to be self-sufficient. Here, ENGIE Axima uses mainly self-contained units that only have to be connected to the seawater supply. If required, these can also be integrated into a duct system.
Axial, radial, high-pressure fans
Fans on merchant ships are often used for the ventilation of rooms that are in different fire protection zones. ENGIE Axima uses efficient external rotor motors as well as EC motors on the corresponding fans to achieve the optimal and most energy-efficient operating point.
The latest development of ENGIE Axima in the area of CBRN combines the advantages of proven predecessors SLG and SLM and goes even further: The new CBRNflex3600 integrates all components of a full CBRN system in a compact station and allows filtering of up to 3,600 m3/h fresh air. The system provides high connectivity to the existing ship systems, improves the flexibility, saves space, is low maintenance, cost-effective and requires less installation time on board.
CBRN protection unit, modular system
ENGIE Axima developed the modular SLM system to clear air volumes of 300 up to 3,600 m3/h from CBRN warfare agents. The robust devices are made of a high-strength, lightweight aluminium alloy and thus only require little space on board.
Pressure wave protection
On special missions, pressure blows may have massive impacts on the ship. Not least, this also affects the equipment and systems on board. With a specially developed pressure wave protection system, ENGIE Axima protects the CBRN protection unit directly after the sand filter and the water trap against damage and thus ensures a long service life.
For operation close to desert regions, protection against sand and dust is essential. ENGIE Axima offers a sand and/or sand water separator combination depending on the type of application in order to protect the CBRN protection unit as well as the subsequent ventilation systems. The filters are primarily made from coated aluminium, and may also be protected against infrared rays by being camouflaged.
CBRN prewetting systems
The CBRN prewetting system is used to wet all outside surfaces of the vessel with seawater. This prevents warfare agents from depositing on the upper deck. The system is simply fed by the central fire-extinguishing system. ENGIE Axima offers a multitude of nozzle types for all deck surfaces, walls and equipment.
Provision cooling systems
Our cost-efficient standard provision cooling systems are optimal for the use on merchant ships. ENGIE Axima delivers its provision cooling systems in a redundant design, complying with the requirements of nearly all classification societies.
Waste cooling systems
ENGIE Axima provides optimal cooling systems for the proper storage of waste. With individual systems, also in a redundant design, we design customer-specific solutions to equip waste cooling rooms and thus provide a correct installation and reliable operation.
Chilled water units
Be it systems cooled by fresh water or seawater: ENGIE Axima provides individual water chillers, depending on the customer’s request with piston or screw compressors, in a robust design and according to the requirements of the respective type of vessel.
A/C cooling system
Tailored solutions with direct evaporation cooling systems - for smaller air conditioning units ENGIE Axima offers cooling systems with the corresponding piston or screw compressors.
ENGIE Axima offers a diverse range of fire-extinguishing systems using water as an extinguishing agent. Be it hydrant, sprinkler, low-pressure or high-pressure water mist systems: ENGIE Axima designs, manufactures and installs individually designed fire-extinguishing systems for the main fire-extinguishing system as well as for enclosures of engines and energy generators.
ENGIE Axima offers the complete range of CO2 fire-extinguishing systems for the use on merchant and special-purpose ships. In rooms with a high fire load, such as for example engine rooms or paint storage rooms, CO2-based automated fire-extinguishing systems are used. Fixed systems replace the mobile units required by the classification societies.
ENGIE Axima designs, delivers and installs pipe systems for any type of on-board operation systems. In this regard, we are able to process different materials depending on the type of medium to be fed. According to the specifications applicable for merchant ships, we offer pipe systems for almost all media, pressures and temperatures.
ENGIE Axima manufactures custom-tailored switchboards and control systems with which you will be able to gain a quick and comprehensive overview of our different systems on board. All control cabinets are manufactured pursuant to the requirements according to standards and provisions of the international classification societies DNV, GL, LR, BV as well as the VDE testing and certification institute. For the use on naval vessels and submarines, the control cabinets are delivered in a shock-resistant and vibration-proof design.
The ENGIE Axima switchboards and control systems can be equipped with an SPC and a touch panel for operation and detailed fault display. A visualization of the respective system as well as the operation and control may also be carried out with one or several remote control panel. An interface to the superordinate control systems of the vessel is provided to control our systems.
